Meet Our Founder
My journey to Paraguay began in 1990, when I first arrived as a student. I couldn’t have known then how deeply that experience would shape my life.
Over the years,returned again and again—spending extended time in Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina, visiting extended family, building relationships, raising my children, and becoming part of the rhythm of daily life. These places stopped feeling like destinations and started to feel like home.
While living in the United States, my family shared that connection in a very personal way—through Paraguayan folk dance, music, and cultural presentations in schools, libraries, and festivals. I loved watching people discover something entirely new… and feel drawn to it.
In 2004, we moved to Paraguay to be closer to my childrens grandparents. We soon began welcoming visitors who had attended our cultural events and wanted to experience the region firsthand. Our tours were simple, personal, and deeply rooted in real connections. Through word of mouth, our guest list quickly expanded. Those early visits became the foundation of Trico Tours.
Over time, that small beginning grew into something much larger. I’ve had the privilege of welcoming travelers from around the world—curious explorers, adoptive families reconnecting with Paraguay, Jesuit groups, and seasoned travelers looking for something more meaningful than a typical itinerary.
Today, I lead Trico Tours independently, working with a trusted network of local guides across Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina. Together, we create experiences that go beyond sightseeing—grounded in culture, connection, and a genuine sense of place.
Many of our guests arrive as travelers… and leave as friends.

We design each journey accordingly, creating a thoughtful balance that feels natural to you—effortless and engaging.
Whether your interests lie in culture, history, nature, wildlife, or artisan traditions, we curate each element with care—pairing you with the right local guides and incorporating meaningful experiences that go beyond the expected. This might include a private visit with an artisan, a hands-on workshop, a hike through beautiful landscapes, or simply the space to connect more deeply with a place.
