Ybycuí National Park
Located about two and half hours from Asuncion, Ybycuí National Park is a fusion of mountain ranges with abundant crystalline streams and impressive waterfalls, situated in the Paraguayan Atlantic Forest ecoregion.
By trails, you will find a viewpoint and the Guaraní and Escondido waterfalls with cascades 10-12 meters in height. Both waterfalls are in the midst of lush vegetation and cascade upon stones covered with ferns, lichens and other varieties of plants.

La Rosada, one of the first iron foundries in South America, is located within the park.
Constructed in the late 1850’s, La Rosada was a crucial part of the grand strategic plan of Carlos Antonio Lopez for the modernization and industrialization of Paraguay. Much of the foundry was destroyed during the War of the Triple Alliance; La Rosada has now been partially restored and the former workers’ facilities have been set up as a museum.
