Trico Tours is a boutique travel company specializing in immersive and meaningful travel experiences in Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina. Our travelers are primarily English-speaking visitors seeking authentic cultural experiences, boutique accommodations, and meaningful connections with local communities.

About You

The Partnerships, Marketing & Communications Coordinator will help grow Trico Tours through relationship-building and thoughtful communication.

This position combines partnership development, relationship management, and email marketing. You'll research prospective partners, nurture relationships with travel professionals, coordinate outreach campaigns, and help keep both our travel partners and past travelers engaged through regular communications.

This is not a social media management role. Instead, you'll focus on building relationships, developing partnerships, creating thoughtful email communications, and helping introduce more travelers and travel professionals to Trico Tours.

The Role

Location: Paraguay or Remote.
Candidates based in or near Asunción may occasionally collaborate from our office or meet in person when helpful.

Working hours: Part-time and flexible, must have some availability during Paraguay business hours.
Expect 15-20 hours per week to start. Possibility to expand hours as the business grows.

Type of Position: Freelance contractor position with flexible work hours

Key Responsibilities

  • B2B Partnerships & Business Development (50%)
    Expand our network of travel industry partners by researching and building relationships with organizations that align with our brand.

    • Research potential partners and maintain a qualified prospect database
    • Identify travel agencies, tour operators, travel advisors, women's travel organizations, educational travel providers, birding and wildlife companies, adoption heritage organizations, and other niche markets
    • Send outreach communications and schedule meetings for the founder
    • Track outreach, follow-ups, and partnership opportunities to ensure no promising relationship falls through the cracks
    • Maintain CRM records
    • Research trade associations, conferences, and networking opportunities
  • Communications & Email Marketing (30%)
    Keep both travel partners and past travelers engaged through consistent, valuable communication.

    • Monthly traveler newsletters
    • B2B partner newsletters
    • New itinerary and destination announcements
    • Client stories and testimonials
    • Repeat traveler campaigns
    • Seasonal travel inspiration and promotions
  • Marketing Communications Support (20%)
    Support a variety of marketing and communication projects, including:

    • Updating brochures and partner materials
    • Maintaining contact databases
    • Coordinating testimonial collection
    • Organizing marketing assets
    • Updating email lists and audience segments
    • Light website content updates
    • Creating simple graphics for newsletters or presentations
    • Assisting with other communications projects as needed

What Success Looks Like

During your first year, you'll help:

  • Build a high-quality database of prospective travel partners
  • Increase the number of partnership conversations and discovery meetings
  • Develop consistent communication with both travel partners and past travelers
  • Improve engagement with newsletters and email campaigns
  • Strengthen Trico Tours' visibility within the travel industry
  • Help generate new partnership opportunities that contribute to long-term business growth

Qualifications

Preferred

The following skills and experiences are helpful, but we understand that successful candidates may not have every qualification listed. If you're excited about this opportunity and believe you'd be a good fit, we encourage you to apply.

  • Experience in travel, tourism, hospitality, or other customer-focused industry
  • Experience with partnership development, sales, customer success, or business development
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp
  • Familiarity with Trello, HubSpot, Airtable, or CRM systems
  • Experience creating simple marketing materials using Canva or similar tools
  • Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT to improve productivity
  • Spanish proficiency is helpful but not required

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, language ability, and overall fit for the role.

This is a long-term independent contractor position with flexible hours and growth potential as the company expands. The position will begin with an initial trial period to ensure a good fit for both parties; responsibilities, workload, and compensation may evolve over time based on performance and company needs.

As the company grows, additional benefits or support may become available for long-term team members, including contributions toward independent health insurance and/or retirement or pension fund coverage.
